"Los Angeles Wildfire: The Flames Engulfing America!"
Hello, friends. America's film city, Los Angeles, is the home of Hollywood. This city has been
destroyed countless times in Hollywood films.
Sometimes there was a heavy earthquake here, sometimes there was a terrifying tsunami.
Sometimes there were tornadoes, sometimes aliens attacked. This city has endured a lot in
films.
But now, in reality, the flames of fire have destroyed Los Angeles. It has destroyed itself. We
have got to see such scenes that are truly heartbreaking.
Watch this video. A fire tornado. It was seen in the Palisades area.
A similar terrifying video came out, which was taken by a man who was locked in his house
when the flames of fire came near his house. Are you okay? Are you gonna be okay? Hi? Are you
gonna be okay? In this video, you can see that his house was engulfed in flames. Thankfully, the
man who recorded this video was rescued on time by the firefighters.
But not everyone was so lucky. At least 24 people have died so far. This fire spread to about
40,000 acres.
It's been more than a week since this fire started, but even now, when I'm recording this video,
this fire is still burning. More than 12,000 buildings have been burnt. People's homes have been
destroyed.
More than 180,000 people have been displaced. About 200,000 people have been given
evacuation notices. According to J.P. Morgan's estimates, Los Angeles will face a financial loss of
$50 billion.
This is not just one fire. There are multiple fires in multiple locations. This fire started in the
Palisades area on January 7. The map shows that there was a fire in Eaton and Hearst that
night.
By January 9, Kenneth was engulfed in flames. And many other areas like Lydia, Archer,
Woodley and Sunset were also engulfed in flames. By the morning of January 12, Lydia fire was
completely stopped.
Kenneth fire was 90% over. Hearst fire was in 76% control. But Eaton fire was only 15% and
Palisades fire was only 11% under control.
The most shocking thing about this incident is that this is happening in the month of January. In
January, Los Angeles has a winter season. And this is a month where it usually rains the most if
you compare it to the entire year.
But still, such a terrible wildfire was seen here. How is this possible? There is a big conspiracy
behind this. Let's understand it in today's video.
If you look at this incident from a geographical perspective, the reason is that it rained less in
Southern California this year. This reduced the humidity and the vegetation had dried up. There
was a lot of dryness in the air.
Apart from this, there were very strong winds. Powerful offshore winds. These are called Santa
Ana winds.
These winds made the fire weather worse. If you look at the map of the western coast of
America, you will see the Rocky Mountains. On the other hand, the areas on the coast of
California have low pressure.
This pressure difference causes the winds to blow. When these winds come down from the
mountains, they become hot and their humidity drops below 10%. And then this hot dry air
dries up the forest even more and increases the possibility of wildfire.
Anywhere, a small fire or a spark creates a big fire and spreads quickly. But the real question
here is what is the reason behind all these conditions? Less rain, low humidity, dry vegetation,
strong winds. What is the reason behind all these conditions? There is a climate scientist, Peter
Kalmes.
He works in NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He used to live in the Altadena area of Los
Angeles. But in the year 2022, he left this place.
Because he realized that it was not right to live here. He also wrote an article in the New York
Times in which he told a dark truth. He opened the polls of many powerful people.
Let's talk about it in the video. But one thing he understood very well was climate change. Look
at this news article from January last year.
The hottest year recorded on Earth so far. 2023. The European Union's Copernicus Climate
Change Service said that if you look at the year from 1850 to now, global temperatures were
the highest in 2023.Before 2023, the record holder year was 2016. Then in 2023, they broke the record of 2016. This
was not a sudden event.
It was the trajectory of climate change. By December 2023, the greenhouse gas levels were at a
record high. Global temperatures were at a record high.
Sea level rise was at a record high. In Antarctica, sea ice was at a record low. This month, the
United Nations' annual climate summit was held.
COP28. This summit discussed the phase-out of fossil fuels. India's climate activist of 12 years,
Lissipriya Kangujum, was on stage at this event.
She shouted, Stop fossil fuels. But in November 2024, when the COP29 summit was held, it was
found that the promise of transition from fossil fuels was just a phrase. The data showed that
the emissions of coal, oil and gas increased by 0.8% instead of decreasing in 2024.
What was the result? This month's news article showed. 2024 also broke the record of 2023. The
year of 2024 became the hottest year so far.
From June 2023 to August 2024, the temperatures broke new records for 15 months in a row.
NASA scientists called it an unprecedented heat streak. The United Nations talked about a
global warming threshold in these summits.
No matter what happens, in comparison to pre-industrial levels, we should not let the
temperature go above 1.5 degrees Celsius. If this happens, catastrophic damage will be seen.
But just a few days ago, the Copernicus Climate Change Service said in its press release that
this threshold has been crossed last year.
In comparison to pre-industrial levels, the temperature has already gone above 1.5 degrees
Celsius. You might be wondering why I am talking about climate change so much. Because
according to experts, what happened in Los Angeles, the role of climate change cannot be
denied.
In 2024, in the state of California, the month of October was the second hottest ever month.
While the months of June and July were the hottest ever months. Do you understand what I
mean? The heat in California in June and July 2024, such heat has never been seen before.
In a large part of Southern California, there was no rain after July. Everything dried up. The
temperatures in Southern California broke five heat records Friday.
And emergency rooms are busy with heat exhaustion patients. Then a few months later, Santa
Ana winds started blowing. Which made the jungle even drier.
Now, it's important to understand one thing here. It's not that these wildfires always happen
because of humans. Wildfires happen naturally as well.In fact, there are some ecosystems as well, plants and animals, which have evolved in such a
way that for ecological balance, they depend on periodic fires. Like conifer trees, they have a
thick bark on them. Or prairie grass, most of its biomass is stored underground.
Some plants are also dependent on heat. So that their seeds can germinate in the soil. Or their
buds can become fruits.
Sometimes, this fire can clear out dead organic material. When dead or decaying plants start
building up on the ground, then the organisms inside the soil can't access the nutrients. The
outgrowth of new small plants can stop because of this.
In such a situation, when dead plants and animals burn in this fire, the nutrients in the soil are
released from the burnt material. This way, they are released earlier instead of slowly decaying.
This is why, many times, humans do prescribed burns or controlled burns.
We intentionally set up wildfires in a controlled way so that the ecology can benefit from it. This
is a scientific field in itself. It is called Fire Ecology.
If you want to know more about this, you can ask ChatGPT. All the core concepts and
applications can be found in great detail. And not only in this field, ChatGPT has knowledge of
everything in every field.
The technology of Artificial Intelligence is improving so fast that it's hard to believe. ChatGPT's
latest O1 model has crossed the knowledge level of a PhD graduate and a scientist. Their latest
O3 model which is under development shows that it can code better than 99.8% of coders.
There are no two ways to ignore this technology. If you want to upskill yourself in this, then I
would suggest my Master ChatGPT course. A comprehensive course of 8.5 hours which tells you

Do check it out. Now let's come back to our topic. If we talk about the region of California,
wildfires have been common there as well.
During summers, there are dry weather conditions along with wind. That's why normally, there
can be a fire from May-June to October. The triggers behind this fire can be natural causes as
well as man-made.
Natural causes can be like lightning, where there is a power cut. This is the most common causedue to which wildfires start. If we talk about man-made causes, it can be roadside ignition.
Fire due to a car. Fire due to machinery. If a machinery hits a rock, sparks come out of it and it
starts a fire.
Or sometimes when the winds are strong, power lines can move due to it. Sparks can come out
of them. There can be other direct man-made causes as well.
People go camping, light their campfire, but forget to put it out. The National Park Service of
America had stated that 85% of the wildfires in their country are due to some human trigger. In
a 2022 California audit, it was stated that there is a need for a lot of improvements in electrical
grids so that the risk of wildfires can be reduced.
The trigger behind the fire in Palisades is the New Year firecrackers. The exact cause is still
under investigation but the firecrackers are considered a big suspect here. But the problem
here is that along with human triggers, we are also witnessing a direct disruption of climate
change.
This is why the natural wildfires that we are witnessing in the past few decades are not a part of
a natural ecosystem. The intensity of the fire during the month of January and the damage it
caused clearly shows that the root cause of the fire is climate change. And in the future, the
situation is going to get worse.
In 2021, a study was published in the PNAS Journal which states that when there is a higher
chance of a fire, the number of fire weather days in California has increased from 66% to 90% in
the past few decades. Extreme wildfires that spread in more than 10,000 acres in California
have increased their frequency by 25% compared to pre-industrial times. This was stated in a
study published in the Science Journal Nature.
If we look at the data of the California Fire Department, what are the most dangerous wildfires?
Out of the top 10, 8 wildfires are from 2017 to 2024. That is, in the last few years. This means
that not only is there a human trigger in many situations, but overall, less rainfall, drying of
vegetation, being more flammable, all of these have a direct influence on the human-caused
climate change.
Whether the government understood this or not, but Peter Kalmes, a climate scientist, whom I
talked about earlier in the video, this was a clear sign for him that the situation is getting worse.
Peter has been living in the Los Angeles village of Altadena since 2008. He says that at that
time, this place was like heaven.
In his backyard, there was a huge avocado tree with which he could make unlimited guacamole
dips. Green parrots were chirping. In Pasadena, there were perfect green lawns of California
Tech where he used to lie down with his children.
But the earth was getting hotter and hotter. By 2012, it became difficult to ignore it. That's why
If you compare it with pre-industrial times, the average temperature is 1.48 degrees Celsius
higher. The deputy director of this service said that in 2023, the climate records are falling like
dominoes. This year's temperature was probably higher than any other period in the last
100,000 years.
You may find this surprising. But it was not surprising for the climate scientists. Because they
had already predicted this.he changed his field.
He used to work in the field of gravitational waves, and now he's in the field of climate science.
He took up a job in NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He wanted to shout from his roof that all
of you, look at the urgent threat of climate change.
He volunteered with local climate groups. He gave climate talks in many parts of the city while
riding a cycle. He wrote articles in newspapers and tweeted on Twitter.
He was also the co-founder of a non-profit climate app and a climate media group. But he
couldn't do anything against the agenda of some billionaires. In September 2020, during an
intense heatwave, Peter felt heat exhaustion for the first time.
The next day, a terrible fire started a few miles away from his area. It was called Bobcat Fire. For
the next few weeks, he was surrounded by smoke clouds with his family.
His lungs were burning. His fingers were constantly tingling. After that day, he started to
suspect that this neighborhood of his could also be a victim of a terrible wildfire.
On that day, he decided that he couldn't live here anymore. He had to leave this place. In 2022,
his wife got a job in North Carolina and they shifted.
He said, I was afraid of the fire, but I didn't think it would be so dangerous. In the news, his
dog's pet hospital was burnt. The church where he used to take his boys for recitals was also
burnt.
The coffee shop where he used to meet his friends and climate activists was also burnt. His
hardware store, Bunny Museum, nothing was left. His old neighbor messaged him and told him
that the house where he used to live was also burnt.
Hearing this, Peter cried. Peter said, the apocalypse has come. Not for everyone, but at least for
those people who have lost something in climate disasters.
Now, no place is completely safe. In Hawaii, deadly fires were seen in 2023. In the Pacific
Northwest, the heat wave of 2021.
Hurricane Helen didn't come in North Carolina last year. If you look outside America, you can
see wildfires in Australia. Oasis are disappearing in Morocco.
Floods are coming in Dubai. And in India, the summers are becoming hotter and more
unbearable. Peter says, until we don't get angry, nothing will change.
And you will get angry when you find out the truth that who is losing and who is benefiting
from all this. Who has done all this? Look at this report from last year. From 2016 till now, 80%
of the greenhouse gas emissions we have seen around the world have come from 57
companies.Only 57 companies are responsible for most of the global climate change. Who are these
companies? These are multibillion-dollar multinational companies that sell oil, gas and coal.
Exxon Mobil in America, Shell, BP, Chevron, Total Energies.
These are private companies but some government companies are also included in this list.
China's state-owned coal company is at the top. Saudi Arabia's Saudi Aramco.
Russia's Gazprom. Iran's National Iranian Oil. India's Coal India.
Mexico's Pemex. And the amazing thing is that all these private companies in America knew 50
years ago that because of them, irreversible climate change will be seen on Earth. Despite
knowing this, the CEOs of these companies, their lobbyists, their lawyers spread disinformation,
spread lies so that the growth of renewable energy can be stopped.
They used their money to buy politicians from all over the world. I'm not saying this, it's Peter's
words. It might sound like a conspiracy theory.
But we have solid proof of this. Last year, climate investigator Rebecca John found some old
documents and took them out. These documents were in some US National Archives, some
were in the University of California and some were in the Los Angeles newspapers of the 1950s.
These documents show that the fossil fuel industry funded the Air Pollution Foundation. There
is a famous climate scientist, Charles Keeling. He also funded their early research.
Charles Keeling worked in a laboratory in Hawaii and set up a system to constantly measure
global carbon dioxide. Keeling's curve shows the progressive build-up of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere. At that time, Los Angeles used to be a smog city.
Research effort was also funded by the fossil fuel industry. Apart from the fossil fuel industry, a
coalition of oil and car manufacturers also gave money to Charles Keeling for research. In these
documents, it can be seen that in the research done at that time, it was already known that
carbon dioxide emissions can have planetary implications.
The things we read in school books, fossil fuel emissions, greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide,
trap the heat, cause global warming, this danger was already known to the industry in 1954.
But still, to print money, they continued the exploitation of fossil fuels. The managers working
in these companies already knew the danger they were posing to the world.
I want to ask you, shouldn't these people be arrested and a genocide case be filed against
them? A 1959 memo shows that America's leading oil and gas lobbying body, American
Petroleum Institute and Western Oil and Gas Association were funding the Air Pollution
Foundation at that time. In 1955, in a policy statement of the Air Pollution Foundation, it was
stated that for California or any other urban area, air pollution is the most serious issue. There
is no proof of this that Charles Keeling got greedy for money and suppressed his own research.fuels.
We have a Republican president coming into office who says this is a hoax. Who's gaslighting
the people who are following him. Peter asks when will Trump's supporters open their eyes and
see that the planet is becoming less and less habitable.
When will they stop listening to this idiot who calls climate change a hoax. Peter suggests that
we should not follow the path of civil disobedience. First, we need to hurt the social license of
these billionaires.
We need to take away their power. Only when we do this, will we be able to find solutions to
problems like climate crisis and healthcare crisis. We will be able to make the world a better
place.
If you are watching this video from America, then I would suggest you to join the movement of
Peter Kalmes and other climate activists. We should make our lifestyle more sustainable. That is
also important.
But the biggest problem here is these billionaires sitting on top and these big companies. No
matter how many trees we grow on a personal level, no matter how much cleaning we do, but
these people sitting on top gave a little donation and there the politicians will pass such laws
which will destroy our environment. I would like to show you some news from the last year.
For the Kavad Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, 1.12 lakh trees will be cut, according to the Uttar Pradesh
government. For the Great Nicobar Project, up to 1 crore trees can be cut on this island of
Nicobar, according to this environmentalist. The old estimate here was of 8.5 lakh trees.
In August 2024, 250,000 trees will be cut for coal mining in Hasdev, Chhattisgarh. In September
2024, the Rajasthan Government has given permission to cut 1 lakh trees in the Rajasthan
Conservation Reserve for a power project. That is why I say we need to end this Chanda Dhande
model from the roots if we want to stop this destruction from happening.
If you live in these states, raise your voice and protest. The government of Madhya Pradesh was
going to cut more than 27,000 trees in Bhopal to build VVIP housing for the MLAs. But when
people protested, look at the news on 17th June 2024, the government has now cancelled this
plan.
